Alterations to the newly acquired Shed

Saturday 19th May 2007. We acquired the other half of the plot last Friday 11th May. We have filled a builders skip full with the rubbish the previous tennant had left. Now the hard work has started to re-vamp the shed first to how we want it. I have taken some before and after photos for you to look at.

This is the front left corner of the shed.

Now after just one hour here is what I have achieved.











































What I am proposing to do is brick the front road elevation up completely and then I have been given a plastic door and frame for the end elevation. I have a plastic window for the back elevation so I will need to brick up to the cill height and then fit the window. On the inside I am going to take the green frame out and block up the wall with a doorway leading into the greenhouse. The greenhouse will have a new frame put on it once I have finished the shed.

Colliery Fields. Allotments

I was looking on 'Google Maps' and decided to look for my allotment site. This was some years ago but the general outline is there. Alot of the plots on the map are shown as overgrown but now they are all taken and the majority are looking really well.

Allotment 27

Allotment Plot 27.

Feb 07 - April 07.

Hi: I'm Mossy and I thought I would show you my first attempt at this blog of my allotment. I got plot 27 in Feb 07 and hopefully these are the pictures of how it looked back then.

This is taken looking at the half plot which we had just been given. From about 3 feet this side of the pallet starts
our plot and about 3 feet this side of the brown fence is where it finishes. Next to the bin is a tree trunk which is about 10 inches in diameter. This took some getting out.








This next picture is taken from the top of the plot looking down towards the other half of the plot which we do not have yet!!!!!! I am standing on the righthand side. You should be able to see the pallet on the lefthand side which is our boundry and the pallet stood up on the right is where the other half of the plot starts.
















This next photo is from the back of the plot again but from the lefthand side. We had our work cut out to get this ready for the planting season.















Two months later. Now I know some of you may not believe this but this was two months later.

And finally here is the other end of the plot which we should take over after the 10th May 2007. There is a brick built shed to the right which I will put a new window in and new roof. The rest will continue to be a greenhouse but I will renew the top half.


















I would just like to add one thing before I finish this first blog page and that is that none of this would of been possible without the hard work of mum who worked none stop sometimes for six hours a day to get this ready. All the raised beds were fixed by myself including the shed and the greenhouse but most of the digging was done by mum.
